My Services

I provide professional proofreading, copy-editing and transcription services to a wide variety of clients and sectors. Based in Liverpool, I work locally, nationally and internationally with businesses, organisations and individuals. I originally began proofreading and editing essays and dissertations to help pay my way through college, and over many years I developed and honed my skills in various workplaces and voluntary positions until I was equipped to turn my natural abilities into a profession. I officially opened for business in 2003, and overall I now have over twenty years of experience in the editorial industry. I undergo continuous professional development and training to keep my skills fresh and up to date.

I have particular experience in scientific, academic, and medical editing, and have worked on numerous academic publications and journal articles. I also provide proof-editing services for essays and dissertations from GCSE level up to and including PhD theses, with a 10% student discount offered to all eligible clients. This courtesy is also extended to charitable organisations and community enterprises.

However, I pride myself on the personal touch and enjoy helping individuals with smaller projects such as CVs and employment applications, blogs and website content, self-published novels and non-fiction, flyers and leaflets for events, and publicity for community groups and associations. I also have specialist experience in polishing text for clients who speak English as a second (or even third) language. My fees page shows my standard rates for larger projects, but for work such as this, I’m happy to quote on an individual, case-by-case basis. My services aren’t as expensive as you might think, and can make all the difference between acceptable and excellent! So don’t be afraid to get in touch if you’d like to know more – there’s no obligation to proceed, and it costs nothing to ask.

As a transcriber, I primarily specialise in medical terminology, and have very extensive expertise in a broad range of fields including cardiology, inherited cardiac conditions, respiratory medicine, radiology, dermatology, neurology, and psychiatry. Additionally, I provide services to the legal, property, and surveying sectors. I work in both public and private practice.

About Me

Born and raised in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, I studied Performing Arts at college before moving to London aged 19 to pursue my dreams. As is their wont, those dreams morphed and changed with me as my life progressed, and I now have an Associate Degree in Animal Science & Management and a BSc (Hons) in Marine & Wildlife Biology. I’m due to commence a part-time MSc in Immunology & Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases in 2026. After two decades of tireless travel and no small amount of gallivanting, I settled in Liverpool in 2016, where I now live happily with a tribe of cats and an ever-revolving collection of visiting friends I’ve met on my travels. I cherish my superbly-equipped, longed-for, book-lined home office, and can say with absolute certainty that silence IS golden. When I’m not playing with words, my hobbies include gardening, aerial silks, wine appreciation, travel planning, cheerfully poor cookery, kitchen-boogie, and laughter.
